Irungu said Kabogo has what it takes to be Kenyan's next president.

In an interview on Sunday, the former Kiambu Speaker said that Kabogo is a performer and should be given a chance to lead.

The former speaker said that no one can match Kabogo’s development record.

“Kabogo has the qualities of a president and Kenyans should give him a chance if he has declared interest in the seat,” he said.

Irungu said that Kabogo had the interests of Kiambu people at heart but was knocked out through malicious propaganda.

He claimed that Kiambu residents regret voting out Kabogo in the 2017 general election.

Last week during an interview on Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show, Kabogo said that he will vie for the presidency in 2022.

The former governor said that he is no longer interested in local politics but his aim is to serve Kenyans at a national level.

Kabogo has remained politically active despite losing re-election and there are claims that he could be picked as Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in 2022.
