A 50-year-old man was eaten by lions on Sunday night as he left home at Siana, Narok.

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) said the man left Olare Orok trading centre around 10 pm when he met the carnivores on his way.

The lions, whose number is still, unknown, pounced on the man and mauled him to death.

With sharp canines, they tore into his flesh and not even residents could rescue him.

“They told us they had heard lions roaring at night, we followed the footprints and confirmed that he had been killed,” a KWS officer said.

The officer added that they only found pieces of cloth and bones at the scene where the lions feasted on the man.
