Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has termed his political antagonists as confused individuals who are fighting to get political relevance in the county politics.
Speaking on Monday, during the end of the year prayers at Ogembo in Kisii County, Maangi said he will not be cowed by his rivals' dishonest criticism.
"I have traversed all corners of Kisii County and I know what our people want. Critics and political enemies will not succeed winning the electorates' hearts using the backdoor. Getting fame in politics won't come through spreading propaganda," he noted.
He said some individuals who have declared the interest in the Kisii County gubernatorial seat in 2022 will not contain the heat when the time comes.
"We have individuals playing around with people's minds talking of 2022 succession something they know nothing about. 2022 will come and the electorates will make a choice based on development ideas of an individual, not propaganda," said Maangi.
Maangi challenged residents to ignore lazy local leaders who lost during the August 8, 2017 polls.
"I am urging Kisii residents that in 2019 they should keep off lazy leaders focused only on spreading falsehood with an aim of getting political relevance," he added.
He also challenged his political adversaries to shun propaganda peddling and focus on development-oriented politics.
