Four MPs stormed out of the meeting summoned by Governor John Nyagarama in Kisumu on Saturday, it has now emerged.
The four along with the governor had secretly convened in Kisumu where they were supposed to prepare a list of their allies likely to take over Chief Officer positions.
A source privy to the meeting said the MPs disagreed with the governor over departments to be taken by their allies thus leading to acrimonious fallout.
"MPs insisted that they were to take Chief Officer positions such as Health, Roads and Finance but this was never to happen as the governor stood his ground.
"Angered by the governor's stand, the MPs walked out of the meeting. They asked the governor to do what pleases him," said the source.
Those present during the meeting include Ben Momanyi (Borabu), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango).
Conspicuously absent was area senator Okong'o Mogeni and Women Rep Jerusha Momanyi who was reportedly out of the country.
On Monday, CPSB shortlisted candidates for the Chief Officer positions with a number of political losers making it to the shortlist.
