A student leader at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has weight in on the shooting incident at State House involving the institution's student.
Clinton Osoro told the media on Tuesday that Brian Kibet, the student who was shot, suffered from psychological problems.
Mr Osoro said that he had raised the issue with the university's administration in a bid to procure Kibet assistance.
According to classmates, Brian was a bright student who was performing very well in class.
"This is a very bright students. We as his classmates started noticing some difference in behavior and, of course, we raised the issue with the university administration. It is not just Brian but it is cutting across all students in the university," Mr Osoro said.
Brian was rushed to hospital after the shooting incident and is expected to be arraigned in a court of law to face charges of tresspass.
It is not clear who were inside State House when the incident transpired.
State House is one of the country's most-guarded buildings in the country as it houses the head of state.
Elite units of Kenya's law enforcement agencies are charged with the responsibility of guarding the president's official residence.
