The three leaders will be in Kisumu during this year’s edition of the Legislative Summit, which brings together Senators and Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs).

The summit is slated for 14th - 18th at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel. It will be the 4th edition.

Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o confirmed through his social media pages that the three leaders will be in Kisumu during the summit.

“The president is expected to open the summit on Tuesday 16th; the PM H.E Raila Odinga will offer his speech on Wednesday 17th and the Deputy President William Ruto to close it on Thursday 18th, April 2019. Karibu Kisumu,” said Anyang' Nyong'o.

The Legislative Summit 2019 will among others seek to build on the gains of the first three legislative summits while providing an avenue for Kenyan Legislatures, to critically interrogate their roles in the devolved governance structure.

The proposed theme for the summit is 'Accelerating devolution; assessing the achievements and addressing the gaps in policy and legislation'.

Uhuru, Raila and Ruto visited Kisumu in December last year where they presided over the official launch of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program.
