Veteran politician Koigi Wa Wamwere has expressed his full support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in his bid to wipe out the corruption menace in the country.
Uhuru has been very active and vocal about the runaway graft and unending scandals, and on Friday reaffirmed his commitment to rid the nation of the same.
And speaking on Saturday, the former Subukia Member of Parliament noted that he has been praying and hoping that Uhuru finally manages to realize his goal.
"I really hope that the president finally succeeds and I have been praying that he does. If he wins the country will have made a great step towards stability and integrity," he said.
Wamwere was speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show, Saturday evening.
He attributed the same to his support for Uhuru's August 2017 reelection bid, after merging his Chama Cha Mwananchi (CCM) with the ruling Jubilee Party months to the polls.
"I believed in him hence my support for him in 2017. I believed he will keep his promises to successfully fight corruption," added Wamwere.
However, he later crossed over to the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in protest after losing in the Jubilee primaries for the Nakuru senatorial race.
