Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has appealed to Kenyans of good will to pray for him citing his life is in danger.
Maangi who took to his social media page on Friday morning claimed that he has been trailed several times while he is away from the county, an indication that someone wants to harm him.
"On Monday night while traveling from Nairobi to Kisii, a white pickup vehicle with GK Registration Numbers trailed me for a very long distance till I dodged it and took a different route," wrote Maangi on his Facebook page.
He added: "On Tuesday evening while traveling to Nairobi, somebody posted on social media that I was being trailed and will be arrested once I reach Narok and went even further to give all the specific details of the car I was traveling in. On Wednesday, an officer with the county government told one of my friends that one of my 2022 gubernatorial candidates will harm me and blame the Kisii County Governor for it."
"Owing to the above I have reasonable believe that my life is truly in danger. I ask all Kenyans at large to pray for me. My life is in danger," Maangi's post concluded.
