Reports indicate that the detectives conducted a search at the governor’s homes in Runda, and Garden Estate.

The first term county boss has been on spot for allegedly misappropriating county funds.

The governor left a Senate Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in deep shock when he admitted that he had no idea how those strange items totaling to Sh2.5 billion were part of his budget for the financial year 2017/2018.

He alleged that there must have been something sinister within the system after the questionable figures emerged into the public domain.

“This may be a system-generated document. Anything could have happened. It could be a mistake or someone may have put it in our documents to portray our county as being irresponsible,” he said.

He faced condemnation from different quarters including financial experts, leaders as well as users on social media.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo also launched a scathing attack against him after he claimed that the past regime was responsible for part of the mess.
