Even if she is released on bail on Wednesday, October 17, journalist Jacque Maribe might be denied access to her house.
According to the prosecutor, Maribe’s house is a crime scene that needs to be protected.
Maribe and her lover Joseph Irungu are charged with the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani at her house in Kilimani.
After the incident, Irungu alias Jowie who is a key suspect in the murder is said to have gone to Maribe’s house where he burnt a jacket and white kanzu he was wearing.
He later shot himself in the journalist’s bedroom in what investigators have termed an attempted suicide.
The prosecution, led by Catherine Mwaniki, will use an affidavit filed in court by investigating officer Maxwell Otieno to persuade the court to give the two more days behind the bars.
Legal fireworks are expected as Maribe’s lawyer led by Katwa Kigen as well as Jowie’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta engages the prosecution in court.
Maribe was living at the Royal Park estate in Lang’ata together with her house help and child.
