Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has said that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is not concerned about the statues in Nairobi.
Kalembe said that Mutua was only trying to annoy Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko by commenting about the state of the statues.
"We the Kambas have no connection with statues, it's a thing of the past. Governor Mutua is either trying to annoy Sonko (Sisi wakamba hakuna mahali tunatoana na sanamu hayo ni mambo ya zamani sana. Gavana Mutua anajaribu kuchokoza Sonko)," he said on Wednesday in Machakos.
He said that the governor was elected to lead Machakos people and bring development to them but not to mind about other counties' issues.
He said the governor should quit unnecessary trips and focus on developing Machakos.
On Tuesday Governor Mutua decried the saddening state of statues in Nairobi where he offered to take care of them personally.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has since swung into action.
On Wednesday Morning Nairobi county workers were seen cleaning up the statues. The workers armed with rakes, brooms and wheelbarrows gathered to clear garbage around the statues.
