The family of City lawyer Assa Nyakundi has broken silence on his whereabouts after reports emerged that he had gone into hiding.
The lawyer family, through its lawyer Danstan Omari has said that he is not on the run as claimed by a local TV station following the mysterious death of his son.
The family has now threatened to file a case against K24 for what they term as airing of unverified reports to defame the lawyer.
The local station had reported that the lawyer is likely to abscond trial after he failed to appear at the court on Thursday after he was arraigned in court over the shooting his son Joseph Nyakundi on 17th March, 2019.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital on Monday, Omari said that Nyakundi is ready to cooperate with the police following the death of his son and media houses should not taint his name any further with falsehoods about his whereabouts.
“How can the police say they are looking for him (Assa Nyakundi) at his house, yet there are orders restraining him from accessing his house?” Omari questioned.
The local TV had reported that Nyakundi was not reachable on his phone and attempts of the police to find him at his home proved futile.
