This follows recent claims from a section of lawmakers that they were offered Sh10, 000 bribe to reject the contraband sugar probe committee report which was rejected anyway on Thursday.

Speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Waziwazi’ Wednesday evening, Okech  bashed the legislative house for what he termed as disappointing and disrespectful to the nation.

He urged the relevant anti-graft bodies to swing into action, proposing strong punitive measures against those foung culpable of playing any role in the saga.

‘’This portrays the house’s lack of respect for Kenyans and should be investigate and the culpable individuals jailed,’’ he said.

He termed the revelation as a possible tip of the iceberg of the rot in the legislative house, noting that chances are high that it is just but one of the illegal dealings taking place in the parliament.

‘’Huenda ikawa yapo mengine mengi ila hili ndilo limegundulika (it is possible that this is just one of the many such dealings),’’ he added.

Okech is set to face off with among others, former Cabinet Minister Ochilo Ayacko in the looming by-election.
