Former Kakamega Homeboyz Coach Paul Nkata has spoken for the first time since he was accused of match-fixing.

Nkata left the country abruptly after Kakamega Homeboyz club accused him of placing bets on games which the club's management believed that resulted to Kakamega Homeboyz poor run.

In an interview with one of sports magazine in Uganda, Nkata denied the allegations, claiming that he has never been involved in such acts.

"I have never been involved in match-fixing ever since I joined football, I know the coaching guidelines and integrity," said Nkata.

Nkata also welcomed investigations into the matter and denied the rumors that he went into hiding after the allegations made by the club.

"When I read that they had parted ways with me, I had to leave the club even before I got my resignation letter to give them room for investigation because am innocent and the truth will come out," he added.

He further said he is ready to face any commission which will be instituted to investigate him.

"I am ready to face the commission of inquiry if instituted to prove my innocence,"

Apart from Kakamega Homeboyz, Nkata also coached Bandari and Tusker,

However, according to FKF President Nick Mwendwa, Kakamega Homeboyz have refused to hand over the federation with evidence of allegation against Nkata.
