The police officers in Kisii have shuddered individual's dreams of pocketing Sh2 million from the sale of bhang which is illegal in Kenya.
This was after the Kisii Central OCS Eliud Kimwele and Kisii Deputy Administration police Commandant Patrick Wafula led the raid and found nine sacks of bhang, worth Sh2 million in one of a homestead in Keumbu, Kisii County.
According to the Keumbu Division boss Francis Nguli, the suspects were arrested and the nine sacks of bhang consficated.
A source which claimed anonymity as reported by the Standard paper said the drug peddlers were working with one of the Senior Administrative Officer in Kisii, who was foreseeing the smooth running of the business.
This did not go well with the Kisii County Police Coordinator Hassan Abdi, who fired warning shots at the police officers involved in such unprofessional actions.
He said if they are caught, they will face the law.
"We will have no mercy on such officers since the fight against drug peddling must continue. This is a factor that is affecting everyone in the society," said Hassan.
Earlier on, bhang worth Sh5 million was impounded at Marani sub-county but the individuals involved were released under unclear circumstances.
