President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday met with the Global Fund Executive Director Peter Sands in Statehouse Nairobi.
According to the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), the presidents meeting was aimed at implementation of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) which is part of the government's Big Four Agenda.
During the meeting, the Head of State lauded the working partnership between the Global Fund and Kenyan Government in the fight against Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDs.
"We are putting a lot of money in the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and we are determined to see it through," President Kenyatta said.
Sands on his part lauded the strides made by the Government of Kenya in the realization of the health coverage noting that devolution of the health sector was noble and commendable.
He also said that President Uhuru's contribution towards the Global Fund initiative has been of the highest esteem.
"Your continued support to the Global Fund is highly appreciated," Sands said.
The Global Fund is an initiative that was started to help in the fight against endemic diseases like Malaria, TB, and AIDs across the world and is based in Geneva.
