Makueni university Students Association patron, also the Elimika Wajibika Youth Initiative adviser Prof Emmanuel Mutisya has vowed to battle anyone in Makueni county gubernatorial race come 2022.
The 28_years_old from Kilungu ward in Kaiti sub-county, former Thomeandu High school student and a PhD holder from the University of Tokyo Japan said that his interest to vie for governorship is due to public demand.
"The youth and the older people have recognised my efforts to change and work diligently for the community. So they are pushing me to vie for the top seat and therefore I have no otherwise but to agree to lead them," he told Hivisasa.
"I have been appointed to lead organizations and have helped youths both in Makueni and in Kenya to get jobs, education and mentorship. And I want to do much more," he added.
According to the Egerton university graduate, Makueni county needs a young and energetic leader to replace the incumbent Kivutha Kibwana in the next general election and someone who understands the issues affecting youth people.
"It's time for the youth. My involved in many youth organizations and as the coordinator of Africa youth entrepreneurship initiative I understand the issues ailing our youth and community. Makueni county needs someone who will surpass Kivutha's record with a big margin," he said.
