Tension is high at the Kenya Methodist University (KEMU), Meru, after reports emerged Monday afternoon that a female student had been brutally murdered by her lover.
It is not yet clear when the girl was killed.
The lover also committed suicide after killing the girl.
The two bodies were discovered at a rental house in Makutano area.
A student who preferred anonymity said the girl has been missing from classes.
"We are shocked, as all along we didn't know she had been killed despite missing classes," the student said.
Police were notified who took away the bodies awaiting investigations over the incident.
Witnesses said the naked body of the girl was found on the floor while the man’s body was found dangling from the rafters of a bathroom.
The incident comes on the backdrop of increased crimes of passion.
