City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has attacked Mt Kenya political leaders for openly disrespecting and disregarding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The lawyer said that the same could not be happening to the president could he be from Rift Valley, insinuating that politicians from Kalenjin have much respect for their leader.
"If President Uhuru Kenyatta was Kalenjin, you will never have heard the nonsense of Kalenjin Governors, Senators, MPs(Members of Parliament) & MCAs (Members of County Assembly) defying him ... That Elected Leaders from Mount Kenya Region & especially Kiambu are showing open contempt for the President is SHOCKING but also PUERILE," reads a tweet by the lawyer.
He spoke after a Kiambu MCA, Witeithie ward representative Julius Taki was arrested on Tuesday for displaying Deputy President William Ruto as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Taki had an image of DP Ruto in military regalia emblazoned on his van. He was detained for five days to allow police to conduct investigations.
Further, the lawyer may have voiced his concern after a section MPs allied to DP defied President Uhuru's orders to cease politicking.
The MPs under the 'Tanga Tanga' banner are seen to be campaigning for Ruto's 2022 bid.
