The course entails giving out of sanitary towels and panties to girls, with an aim of keeping them in school especially during menstruation.

On Friday, needy girls at Ngege Primary School in Kisumu West Constituency received a donation of sanitary towels courtesy of the Big Dream Vision (BDV) through the office of Mama Kisumu County Dorothy Nyong'o.

Speaking during the event, BDV official Ishmael Awange said the initiative aims at benefiting hundreds of girls in the county who are sometimes forced to stay away from school during their menstrual cycle due to lack of pads.

"Just like Lupita Nyong'o told us your dream is valid, today we are here to lift you up so that you can lift another person tomorrow,” he said.

He was accompanied by Dr. Arthur Shikanda from the Ministry of Health, Kisumu office.

Dr Shikanda said that the county government is committed to ensuring that no girl in the County skips class due to lack of pads.

"We are teaching these girls how to dispose sanitary towels and personal hygiene,” said Dr Shikanda.
