Deputy President is among the first high ranking government dignitaries to visit former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka following the death of his father.
Mzee Peter Musyoka died on Sunday after a short illness and has been mourned by many leaders across the political divide.
The DP said: "Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu was an affable, caring gentleman, who supported the needy and contributed to worthy causes in society.
"He was cherished, adored and leaves fond memories to his loved ones. Condoled with former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Nairobi County," he added.
It was the first time Mr. Ruto met Musyoka face to face since June this year during the Prayer Breakfast meeting in Nairobi.
His tour to Karen comes amid ongoing political realignments across the country that has seen his political nemesis Gideon Moi pledging to work with Raila Odinga.
On Friday in Kisii during the homecoming of Millionaire businessman Don Bosco Gichana, Kalonzo maintained that he will also be on ballot.
