Mr Matoke Nyamoko, who lost his eyesight several years ago following an illness, his been under the care of the first time Jubilee MP in Nairobi for several months now.

In a phone conversation, Mosiori said Mr Matoke Nyamoko died in a Nairobi Hospital and plans were in place to take his body to Lee Funeral home for preservation.

"I want to send my condolences to MP Joash Nyamoko for losing his brother Matoke Nyamoko. He has battled a disease for a long time which even led to the loss of his eyesight.

"The body is being moved to Lee for funeral arrangements. We shall give further details in the due course," Mosiori said in a long statement.

His funeral could attack high octane politics given that Nyamoko, a former speaker of Nyamira County Assembly, is a close confidant of DP William Ruto and at one time worked with Raila Odinga.

Mr Nyamoko, despite being a first term legislator, is also the chairman Gusii MPs caucus, which brings together over 20 elected officials representing constituencies.

He was one of the organisers of President Uhuru Kenyatta's trip to Kisii a few days ago, which is said to have divided many elected leaders.
