State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo has given a detailed report on youths and employment.
During a press briefing on Tuesday at Statehouse, she revealed the state created over 840, 000 jobs last year with the hope to do more this year.
"The President’s intervention at Embakasi and recent discussions to smooth out the problems that arose in the importation of spare parts are an answer to the worry that regulation, though necessary, might hurt young people’s businesses. We will continue to listen and to regulate with as light a touch as is possible," Kanze Dena said.
Further, she spoke on affordable capital that Kenyan youths deserve. She revealed of Stawi loan programme that sees beneficiaries get a loan at a lower interest rate of 9 per cent.
She also said that employment programmes shall be launched on Thursday under MasterCard.
"The President has been working on this since last year when he met MasterCard’s leadership on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. He has since been in regular contact with them, in preparation for the event this Thursday, to which he looks forward to. I can’t say much about it now; what I can say is that he will launch a striking new programme for jobs," she added.
