Deputy President William Ruto's recent remarks in which he seemed to dispel corruption debate continues to elicit sharp reactions from among locals.
In his speech a week ago, Ruto insisted that money borrowed by the country had been put into good use.
"We have built more roads, SGR and even electricity connection. No money has been lost as some people try to say," the DP declared.
His statement contradicts President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks on which he has publicly acknowledged rampant corruption.
And ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire has labeled Ruto an enemy of change adding that his time in government was up.
"Only an agent of impunity can defend graft. If the president is serious about his legacy, time has come to drop the DP," he said.
In an interview, ex-North Mugirango MP Charles Geni insisted that Ruto is an impedance to development.
"When the president wages war against corrupt elements, his allies usually fight back. This tells us the kind of a person Uhuru is dealing with. Time has come to take him."
Earlier, a section of ODM leaders led by Richard Kaka had termed Ruto a 'pretender' who should not be taken serious.
Uhuru is under immense pressure to act on corruption and on Friday, he increased funding to detectives to perfect his new tactics on anti-graft war.
