Immediate former Jubilee party Vice Chair David Murathe says he has not been in touch with President Uhuru Kenyatta throughout this year.
Considered one of the closest friend of the president, Murathe sent the country into a panicking mode after openly dismissing deputy president William Ruto's chances of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an exclusive Interview with KTN News on Sunday, Murathe dismissed the narrative that he may have been passing a message from Uhuru, adding that the misconception made him bow out in good faith.
"They misinterpret that Murathe cannot give his personal views. When they see me speaking, even the press terms me as Uhuru's ally. They should learn to differentiate private life from public duties.
"Personally, in have not spoken to the president this year. He has been busy with his family for Christmas. They must know that I can also speak on my own just like any other Kenyan," he claimed.
So lethal was the storm in Jubilee that some legislators accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of remaining mum despite comments made by Murathe on the future of Ruto.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri even asked Uhuru to call for fresh elections on Sunday, accusing him of throwing Kikuyu community in Rift Valley off balance due to Murathe's jibes.
"If he's tired of leading, let him call for fresh elections. There is not government which has suffocated Kikuyu community politically and economically like this one," he argued.
