Keter, a Jubilee Party rebel, was given a political lifeline after an Eldoret appellate court overturned a High Court judgment nullifying his August 8, 2017 election win.

In his ruling, Justice Erastus Githinji said claims by the petitioner, Bernard Kitur, that Keter campaigned beyond stipulated time did not amount to electoral malpractice.

Owino, who had his win canceled and later upheld, said he was 'proud' of Keter's win and noted he was being victimized over his political stand.

"Proud of the decision by Court of Appeal to reverse High Court's decision to nullify election of Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter. Like myself, comrade Keter had his victory unjustly nullified because of his firm stand against corruption and bad leadership in the nation," Owino tweeted on Wednesday.

Keter and his colleagues such as Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny have been pointing an accusing finger at Deputy President William Ruto for fighting politicians with divergent opinion in the Rift Valley.

"You can't use your powers to intimidate us. We shall go back to people and handle these issues," said Keter while celebrating his win yesterday at Eldoret town.
