Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has called upon the County Government of Nandi to address problems that traders face in order to provide a conducive business environment.
The senator made the remarks after he visited traders at the Kapsabet town market on Sunday, to check on the status on the market.
In a post on his official Facebook account, the lawmaker noted that he interacted with the traders who aired their grievances and discussed some of the solutions that should be implemented to address the challenges they are facing.
He said the traders noted that there is a need for the county government to revamp the market to provide a favourable environment for them to do business.
"The market is still grappling with a myriad of problems such as poorly serviced infrastructure, inadequate stalls/ shades, lack of public toilets, poor/lack of lighting as well as poor drainage and garbage disposal," read the senator's post in part.
Cherargei further questioned why the county was charging the traders high levies, yet they were not receiving the desired services.
"The problems must be addressed expeditiously to facilitate good business environment and attract more investors to invest in our county to spur economic growth," he added.
