Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi has been accused of meddling in Nyandarua County affairs.
Nyandarua County Assembly’s intergovernmental committee has now asked him to keep off their county affairs after he was invited to launch an airstrip in Gatimu Ward.
The Committee's chair Ken Mukira reminded the Laikipia Governor that he has no moral authority to launch projects in Nyandarua because he was not elected there.
“Laikipia governor should allow our governor to take charge of his territory. The airstrip’s services will directly be offered and affect the people of Nyandarua County. We have no leadership vacuum; it's for the Nyandarua leaders to decide if the airstrip is of any value to our people,” said Mukira.
H asked the Laikipia Governor to stay away from the county until they address the border dispute which the two counties are locked into.
He further said that it is a sign of disrespect for the county boss to unveil a project without involving the local leaders.
