Hours after being ranked most corrupt Kenyans, Deputy President William Ruto held a meeting with Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru on Thursday.
A survey done by IPSOS Synovate firm, revealed that most Kenyans believe that the duo are corrup.
But in a rejoinder, the two vehemently fought back the findings terming them 'political' even as Waiguru threatened a legal step.
At Karen, Ruto hosted Waiguru and a delegation of MCAs where a wide range of issues were discussed.
"The National Government has offered counties full backing to enhance service delivery including legislative, advisory and monetary support.
"We expect all leaders- MCAs, MPs, senators and governors- to work together and serve the interests of the people. Met Kirinyaga County Governor Ann Waiguru and MCAs at the Karen office, Nairobi County," wrote Ruto on Facebook.
While Waiguru prominently featured in NYS scandal that saw her lose her ministerial post, Ruto has been linked with unscrupulous businesses among them land grabbing.
But in an interview with NTV recently, the DP denied claims that he is corrupt.
A political partnership between the duo is possible in 2022 as Central Kenya proponents push for the first time governor's candidature.
In the survey, Ruto topped with 33 per cent with Waiguru coming close at 31 per cent.
