While in the company of the Kieleweke MPs in Meru, Moi said he is relying on his father retired President Daniel Moi’s network as he launches his bid for a high office.

The last born son of the ex-president told worshippers of how his father has been introducing him to his friends ‘because you don’t know about tomorrow’.

“Yesterday (Saturday), my father asked me where I was going and I informed him about Meru and he told me that he has friends here. He told me that friends have children and grandchildren. You never know about tomorrow,” Moi said.

He was addressing the faithful at Runogone Methodist Church in Imenti North constituency, Meru county.

The senator has been accused by his rivals of turning his father’s Kabarak home in Nakuru into a political battle where those perceived to be his competitors are denied entry.

Deputy President William Ruto, one of those perceived to be at loggerheads with Gideon, has been denied to see the ex-President even after visiting the home.

He was in the company of MPs Maina Kamanda, Maoka Maore, Gladys Wanga, Mercy Gakuya and William Kamket.

They tour regions spreading the anti-Ruto gospel as they accuse him of disrespecting the president.

On Sunday, the MPs hailed Gideon Moi as a man who is fit to take over the mantle from President Uhuru Kenyatta when he retires in 2022.
