A section of leaders from the Jubilee Party have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of betraying them.
The leaders drawn from the Ukambani region, are allegedly considering ditching the ruling party for Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper.
According to former Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao, the leaders have been in talks with Kalonzo regarding a possible move.
“We are consulting as a community to discuss our common issues beyond the political parties we belong to. We are in touch with Mr Musyoka and we’ll be announcing the way forward soon,” Munyao is quoted by Nation.
The daily reports that the last meeting took place on Monday.
Munyao recently told mourners at a burial ceremony in Mbooni that he was willing to ditch Jubilee and troop to Wiper.
The leaders are said to be unhappy with developments after the elections.
This comes after former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile claimed that he was betrayed by Jubilee. An agitated Kalembe said that he was promised a job but after the elections, he is still in the cold.
