Mbita finally sealed the game in the second half with a 28-19 score as coach Michael Isasi Orwa prepares to conquer Nyanza once more after missing in action last year.

'' The boys began poorly at the Zonal level but after fixing some key issues we have never lost since, besides, Thurgem was good but not to the standards of my boys who proved their skills in the field of play'', said Coach Orwa.

They began the race yesterday in preliminaries where had to come back to fight their place in this year's competitions and beat Lwanda Magwar 32 -12 after thrashing Barding Boys 28-26 in their 2019 opener.

In another game, former champions Maseno School outclassed Oriwo Boys 68-34. Maseno coach Gordon Ogutu said his team is keen to reclaim their lost glory. Last year’s finalists Agoro Sare thrashed Nyamira’s Nyambaria Boys 90-22 while Maranda thumped Kanyawanga 51-38.

Rugby 15s saw St. Mary’s Yala complete a 17-0 and 10-0 win over Rapogi Boys and Oriwo Boys and are yet to concede a try in the tournament.

Finals will be played on Wednesday with winners booking tickets to the National games to be staged in Mombasa county from 6th April 2019.
