Despite the hard economic crisis facing many Kenyans and the government’s effort to cut costs to service country projects, 5 Kenyan senators have been cleared to fly to Tokyo.
The trip is aimed at enabling them to have a glimpse of the World Volleyball Championships for women which will kick off tomorrow.
Here is the full list of the five senators:
1. Christopher Lagat from Bomet
2. Irungu Kang’ata from Murang’a
3. Nominated Beatrice Kwamboka
4. Nominated Victor Prengei and
5. Nominated Christine Zawadi.
The senators have been approved and cleared by Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, to have the Tokyo trip for a fortnight to watch the World Volleyball Championships for women.
The amount of cash that each will pocket for the trip will cost Sh1.2 million in per diems, tax payers money.
The amount will cater for the 14-day trip to Japan.
Tokyo is considered among the most expensive locations in the world just like Washington.
