According to Buzeki, the land is meant for the importance of society and the family due to the rapid growth of the Kenyan population.

"Population of Kenya is going to be nearly 72 million by 2030. All these people will need to be fed," noted the billionaire businessman.

"So, our people, don't sell your land because it's going to provide food for them," he added.

Buzeki who was addressing mourners at Surungai, Turbo Constituency during the burial of the late Barnaba Kigen on Saturday also took the opportunity to appreciate all Uasin Gishu residents for backing him during the 2017 general elections.

He said he opted to support the winner, governor Jackson Mandago so as to allow him to serve the electorates.

"If I had bad intentions to the society then His Excellency the President couldn't appoint me to head one of the sugar companies," noted the Chemilil Sugar Company chairman.

Buzeki is expected to vie for the gubernatorial seat in 2022 for the second time.
