Following the scrapping off of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) clearance as a mandatory for one to vie for the Judicial Service Commissions (JSC) post by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) on Saturday, Raila Odinga Junior has added his voice over the challenges being faced by the unemployed youths.

According to Raila Junior, HELB clearance fees should be scrapped especially for the young people who are toiling daily without a job since it gives them a burden leaving them poor and vulnerable in society.

"Reading that lawyers have approved a motion removing mandatory HELB and KRA clearances for candidates seeking LSK posts. I am always for the view that HELB clearance certificate should be done away with especially for the unemployed youth seeking employment," read his tweet.

The action by the Law Society of Kenya comes at a time when it is preparing for representatives' elections to the Judicial Service Commission which held in May.

The unemployed youths have been facing difficulties in securing employment opportunities as a result of high debts they owe the Higher Loans Education Board with its interest increasing as the loan remains unpaid.
