Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has disclosed an apparently ongoing enmity between herself and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an interview on Radio Maisha's 'Bunge La Maisha' on Thursday morning, the opposition lawmaker narrated how the president has been ignoring and downplaying her.
She recalled how she was recently subjected to humiliation at the Nairobi State House.
The leader recalled walking out of a function presided over by the president after she was forced to sit behind her predecessor and political rival Rachael Shebeesh.
"Waliniita Statehouse kisha nawekwa eti nikae nyuma ya Rachael Sheebesh. Nilijiuliza mbona niwekwe nyuma ya mtu niliyemshinda katika uchaguzi? Nikaamua kurudi nyumbani.
(At the statehouse I was humiliated and placed behind Shebesh whom I defeated in the elections. I had to walk out)," she said.
She also lamented being repeatedly ignored by the president and his deputy William Ruto, saying that all her attempts to reach out to them on important issues have been futile.
She narrated a recent instance when she reached out to the president with an investment offer, but his indifference would push the investor to neighboring Ethiopia.
"Nimejaribu kuzungumza na Uhuru na Ruto lakini wananipuuza.
Juzi nilileta mwekezaji aliyetaka kuwekeza billioni 10 Nairobi lakini hawakuniskiza. Sasa huyo mwekezaji amewekeza pesa hizo kule Ethiopia.
(Their ignorance has seen an investor who wanted to invest Ksh10 billion in Nairobi move over to Ethiopia)," she added.
