Deputy President William Ruto is under pressure to retire together with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Samuel Nyangeso, a former Kisii town mayor argued that DP Ruto should consider going on retirement in 2022 to curb unnecessary chaos which may erupt from elections.
"I am suggesting that DP Ruto should accept to go home with his boss in 2022 since he has been a deputy for two terms to give room for others to take over the leadership of this country," he noted.
Nyangeso warned DP Ruto against ignoring calls from leaders to retire saying if he can't accept to retire, chaos will erupt in 2022.
"Ruto's allies may end up bringing trouble if he doesn't become president in 2022. It is therefore, good for DP Ruto to go on early retirement for the sake of peace in this country," he added.
He challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to persuade DP Ruto to join him in retirement once their tenure comes to an end in 2022.
"Uhuru and Ruto won in 2013 and 2017 respectively. It will be historic if they all retire in 2022 together," he said.
