The war of words between North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko and former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire escalated on Wednesday with each side determined to stamp authority in Nyamira County.
Early this week, Nyamoko accused Bosire of spending his time on criticising the DP instead of revamping his political career having lost to Shadrack Mose of Jubilee.
"I hear Bosire wants to be governor but he's wasting his time criticising the DP. His sentiments have no basis. Let him get his candidate and support for president. Ruto shall win here."
But the war escalated on Tuesday when goons allegedly hired by Nyamoko disrupted an ODM press conference at Ekerenyo, blaming Bosire of politicising the friendly exchanges.
And in a rejoinder, Bosire accused Ruto of funding Mr Nyamoko to undermine him in the larger Nyamira County ahead of 2022 elections.
"He paid goons to disrupt an ODM press conference and this is unacceptable. I know that he's being funded to taint my name but I want to dare the DP to bring it on. Their dirty tactics cannot work."
While Mr Nyamoko is a close confidant of Deputy President William Ruto, Mr Bosire is de facto representative of Raila Odinga in the vast Gusii region.
Sources close to Jubilee Party intimate that the DP is worried of Bosire's influence and is determined to thwart him for the sake of securing over 1.5 million votes from the region.
