Nairobi High Commissioner to London Manoah Esipisu on Sunday received AU Infrastructural Development envoy Raila Odinga, a move that could further elicit debates on the former PM's actual role in government.
Mr Odinga left JKIA on Saturday evening in the company of Nyando MP Jared Okello in a more than week-long tour to United Kingdom and Russia for official functions.
And the former State House spokesperson received him in London before proceeding for breakfast. Only special government dignitaries are received by ambassadors and High Commissioners when visiting foreign countries.
"H.E Raila Odinga arrived safely in London, UK this morning. He was received by Mr. Manoah Esipisu, Kenya's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He is set to address a forum on the legacy of Kofi Annan at Chatham House on Monday June 3, 2019," wrote Philip Nyamai, a Capitol Hill functionary.
At London, Mr Odinga is set to address hundreds of people at Chatham House on the legacy of former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan who died last year according to his spokesman Dennis Onyango.
"Mr Odinga is scheduled to speak at the Chatham House on the Legacy of the former UN Secretary General the late Dr Kofi Annan. The memorial event runs between 3rd and 4th June in London.From London," he said.
Thereafter, Odinga will travel to St Petersburg in Russia where he will address an Economic Conference following invitation by Moscow. He will address sessions on Global Energy Sector.
"Mr Odinga will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia for the St. Petersburg Economic Conference at the invitation of the Russian government. He will address sessions on gobal Energy Sector Challenges and Opportunities, the Russia-Africa Business Dialogue focusing on Investment and Trade and Building a Network of High-Quality Roads," he added.
Raila was appointed as African Union High Representative for Infrastructural Development, an engaging post which has literally kept him busy for several months now.
