Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has responded to claims that he is a mole for the Orange Democratic Movement.
Through his social media accounts, Ngunjiri denied the allegations that were brought to air by MPs led by Mathira's Rigathi Gachagua.
According to the first time lawmaker, the accusations were meant to undermine him
“But it’s important to remember that being in ODM is not an insult. Many good Kenyans are in parties other than Jubilee and that’s not an insult,” he said.
He noted that many politicians in Jubilee were once ODM members especially those from Rift Valley.
It’s also important to remember that not agreeing in the past doesn’t mean you can’t agree now. At one point President Uhuru ran against (former President Mwai) Kibaki, but that didn’t stop him from being Kibaki’s strongest supporter and defender afterwards,” he said.
Wambugu further stated that there was need for unity in the country.
