According to Sonko, Kidero was a 'thief' and a cartel who was elected in 2013 to steal public funds.

“I beat Kidero, a thief who failed to transform Nairobi. I am not afraid saying that and Nairobians can be my witnesses,” he said.

Sonko reiterated that he is committed to ending cartel dealings in the county and no one is going to derail his efforts to ensure Nairobians enjoy the fruits of devolution.

“I don’t fear cartels who are out to bring blackmail and intimidate me and my government. Dubious dealings of acquiring lands and money in Nairobi should come to an end in my tenure because the thief I defeated during the last year’s polls failed to end corruption and dubious dealings in the city-county,” he added.

Sonko said he has a good working relationship with County MCAs who have promised to work around the clock to change the lives of the people.

He said he will not condone corrupt workers to taint the name of his government saying he will sack any worker who will engage in corruption.

The Jubilee governor called on residents to ignore propaganda being spread on social media about his administration and support him to deliver.

He vowed to empower youths and women in the county to boost livelihoods of the people.

Sonko was speaking on Saturday at Kangemi area in Westlands constituency.
