Kalonzo, who has expressed his interest in the Presidential race ahead of 2022, has been facing endless criticisms over his political stand during tough moments, with some leaders referring to him a 'Watermelon'.

According to Joe Khamisi’s publication, Kalonzo will never forget the day he came face-to-face with angry Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters at Khadija primary school in Mombasa on an unspecified date in September 2007.

The opposition had organized a series of rallies at the Coast region in a bid to seek the support of the people to take over power before Kalonzo experienced the worst.

The Ukambani political was humiliated after the angry supporters booed at him in one of the worst incidents ever witnessed in the nation. They perceived Kalonzo, who had also expressed interest in being the opposition’s flag bearer, as a traitor.

The events at the rally saw the relationship between Kalonzo and ODM leader Raila Amolo change. The ex-VP was seen to be duping Raila as he sought to take over the leadership of this nation.

“Kalonzo came face-to-face with angry ODM-Kenya supporters for the first time since the campaigns began, in an incident that almost threw into pieces the fragile relations between the two principal party contenders, reads part of the publication.
