South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has vowed not to apologise to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga over his remarks on Saturday.
This comes after the MP said that Raila didn't help him clinch his seat during the 2017 polls.
Speaking on Monday at Boikanga Ward during the issuance of bursaries to needy students, Osoro said his constituents are the ones who elected him and not Raila.
"I want to reiterate that the people of South Mugirango elected me in 2017 and not Raila Odinga. I will not apologise to anyone including Raila himself just because I'm speaking my mind," he said.
The vocal MP said it is his right to associate with other leaders irrespective of their political affiliations.
"I will not be an enemy to my people just because I'm close to Deputy President William Ruto. It should be known that I am close to DP Ruto because I want more development for my people directly from the national government," he added.
Osoro further noted that his constituents are happy with his style of leadership.
"My employers (electorate) have not complained about my association with DP Ruto. I don't see why opponents should continue criticising me for being close to DP Ruto," said Osoro.
