Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has insisted that he is still part of the Jubilee government despite being fired.

Speaking on Saturday when attended a funeral at his Shibale backyard in Kakamega County, Echesa that he is still in leadership because he contested on a Jubilee ticket for the Mumias Parliamentary seat in 2017 and the political outfit formed the government. 

The embattled formed CS, who is being investigated over his links to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s impersonators, also said that Deputy President William Ruto is not to blame for his woes. 

He also promised African Union High Representative on Development Raila Odinga a tough political battle in 2022.

“I am still in government because I contested the 2017 Mumias West Parliamentary seat on Jubilee Party ticket and Jubilee formed the government,” he said.

Echesa also alleged that he was fired because of the relationship between Uhuru and Raila. 

He claimed that he was a sacrificial lamb in the recent reorganization of the cabinet. 

 Ruto’s allies have been faulting Uhuru for singing to Raila’s tune in the fight against graft. 

The politician opines that the alleged war against corruption is targeting DP Ruto as he seeks to ascend to power when that time.
