Here are top ways to identify a fake smartphone and avoid buying it as highlighted on wiredbugs.com

Boot in factory mode

Usually, in an original smartphone, the recovery menu will appear after booting it which is not the case in a fake smartphone. So this is how to go about; first turn on the phone by holding the power on, home and volume up keys at the same time.

As mentioned above, if the recovery menu doesn't appear, then it's a fake smartphone.

Texture of the screen

On this one, you need to be smart enough. An original smartphone is made of a glassy screen whereas the fake ones are made of plastic screens. Run your fingers through the screen and feel the texture.

Logo

Another important thing to check out is the logo. If the logo is blurry in nature, then it is a fake smartphone. Just turn on the phone and be keen while checking and confirming the logo.

 Picture quality

This is also an important thing to consider. Fake smartphones have blurry and poor quality pictures. Before buying it, confirm its camera by taking photos, their qualities.
