Bonchari MP John Oyioka has eaten humble pie following pressure he received from his constituents.
The MP said the allegations that he intends to relocate Kisii South District Headquarters are false.
"I was elected to develop Bonchari but, not relocate government offices. Even if I want to relocate any office within the constituency, I must seek the input from constituents before moving to any public office," he said.
He blamed social media users for spreading propaganda on social media more specifically on Facebook.
"Some youths who are idle have been spreading propaganda about my leadership on social media. I'm appealing to my people to ignore the fake claims on social media and help me deliver my promises," said Oyioka.
The lawmaker insisted that he has no hatred for any politician from the constituency.
"My rivals should not be scared facing me to share development ideologies and offer support towards realizing development in the region. President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga agreed to shake hands and this is a big challenge to us at the constituency level to shake one another," he added.
