Residents have protested after a middle-aged pastor was ex-communicated by Nguutani locals for allegedly ‘feasting’ on minors in Mwingi, Kitui County.
Angry residents of Nguutani Ward on Monday stormed Pastor Steven Masila’s home, packed his belongings and ex-communicated him.
The residents claimed the Arising Christian Ministries pastor was a serial defiler who has been ‘feasting’ on minors.
The residents claimed the pastor has been luring young girls and having sex with them while threatening them not to expose him.
The pastor is said to have defiled and impregnated a class seven pupil at Nzawa Primary School in Nguutani ward, Mwingi Sub County.
Last week, the minor record statement with the police alleging that he was defiled and impregnated by the pastor in August 2017.
Reacting on Kitui County Forum and Kitui United Facebook pages on Tuesday, residents said it was right for Nguutani residents to ex-communicate the pastor.
“They did the right thing we must act tough on defilers who are preying on our innocent kids,” Mercy Musembi said.
“This s good news the pastor should go to hell, # protect our girls,” Kevin Mutula stated.
“Where are the authorities, such pastors who hide behind religion to commit evil should be dealt with accordingly,” said Jennifer Mbatia.
Nguutani residents while evicting the pastor claimed that he does not hail from the area.
They packed his belonging, loaded them in a vehicle and sent him away.
There has been rise in defilement cases across Kitui and the large Ukambani region in the recent days.
