Kisii residents have reacted after the country's top leaders met in Kisii on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy Dr. William Ruto and NASA leader Raila Odinga met in Kisii where President Uhuru visited to commission various development projects done by Kisii county government under the leadership of Governor James Ongwae and his Deputy Joash Maangi.
Residents have reacted differently following the leaders' meeting.
"The handshake is real. As Kisii residents we should be proud since the three top leaders met for the first time in Kisii since the historic handshake. It is high time we should embrace peace, unity and harmony," said James Nyakiongora.
Albert Anyega lauded the three leaders saying their meeting is a true indication that the handshake is fruitful.
"It is a challenge to us common citizens not to continue having hatred because of the political lines. Uhuru, Ruto and Raila are friends why not us? We are blessed as Kisiis to host the top three leaders," said Anyega.
Gerald Onsongo expressed his happiness to Kisii Governor James Ongwae for inviting the three leaders.
"Ongwae is doing a good work. He brought the leaders to Kisii to prove that he values unity. On behalf of Kisii residents we are happy," said Onsongo.
