Witness said that the stormy wind that lasted for 20 minutes completely destroyed the institution in Masaba North and could have possibly killed students had they been still on session.

"This is the worst scenario I have seen in my entire life.  It lasted for twenty minutes and it was just immense. Something that has never happened I think in this world," said Elijah Saboke, a resident.

Another resident Jennifer MPesa said: "This can only be triggered by witchcraft. The nature couldn't allow it to last for over ten minutes. Something isn't adding up."

The institution now has to be build afresh by January to accommodate a population of over 500 students who are on recess.

Area MP Shadrack Mose said his NG-CDF team visited to establish the magnitude and possibly how to help the institution.

"My team has visited. I am told the damage was immense. We shall see how you help using the emergency funds," he said.

The region is synonymous with witchcraft and often, residents have beaten or even killed people over witchcraft allegations.
