Obama is expected into the nation on Monday, 16 July, and is set to launch a youth project spearheaded by his sister Auma Obama in the course of the tour.

In Siaya, he will find a university coming up in his honor and for which the Governor Cornell Rasanga-led county has channeled 100 million shillings.

He will also find his name more popular, following the government's decision to name two schools after him.

Nyang'oma Primary and Secondary schools are now Senator Barrack Obama Primary and Secondary.

Also awaiting him are big expectations, including the hope that he will save the headteachers and students of Obama Secondary who have been undergoing mockery of operating in a school with a big name but without a school bus.

"The students have been dreaming of having a bus… and they would be glad to have this dream come true," the head teacher, Henry Odongo, was quoted by the Standard.

He will also be expected to intervene in the health and education shortcomings in the area, with area MCA Joseph Mboha expressing hopes that the ex-Potus will look into the issues which he seeks to raise with him.

"We have issues to do with water projects in schools and health facilities, and Barrack Obama University whose idea had been floated to him, as well as a number of issues which we have as the people of the ward which hosts his home," he told the paper.
